Michelson Museum of Art

Michelson Museum of Art

Named by Texas Monthly magazine as the best small museum in Texas. The Michelson Museum of Art showcases the work of Russian-American artist, Leo Michelson. The collection of more than 1,000 paintings, drawings, and prints was donated to the City by Michelson’s widow. The museum also features traveling displays. There are permanent exhibits, including a selection of 20th-century American art, and the Ramona and Jay Ward Collection of African masks and artifacts. Marshall Visual Art Center

Texas Country Music Hall of Fame

Texas Country Music Hall of Fame

Celebrating and honoring the contributions of Texans to the Country Music profession. Visitors can stroll through the 13,000 square feet of exhibit space where informational panels cover over 40 inductee’s career and accomplishments through text, photographs, and artifacts. Just some of the inductees include Willie Nelson, The Gatlin Brothers, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Neil McCoy and Tex Ritter. 310 W. Panola in Carthage. Closed Sundays.
